Suburban Sports Group promotes Mitchell, Pardoski
to general manager positions

Veteran staff members move from assistant manager posts

Suburban Sports Group of Farmington Hills, MI has announced Jeff Mitchell will be
assuming the role of general manager at Suburban Ice-East Lansing in East Lansing, MI
and Julie Pardoski will take over as general manager at Suburban Ice-Macomb in
Macomb, MI.

Mitchell brings a wealth of hockey instructional and arena management experience to
the role of general manager at SIEL. He is replacing Deb Grace, who has served in the
role of general manager at Suburban Ice-East Lansing since SSG took over management
of the facility in 2004. Grace is retiring after eight years of dedicated service to SSG.
Before signing on with SSG, Mitchell played for the Detroit Jr. Red Wings of the Ontario
Hockey League from 1992-95. A third-round National Hockey League draft pick in 1993,
he made his professional debut with the Dallas Stars organization playing for their
International Hockey League affiliate in Kalamazoo, MI. Over the next four seasons he
played for the K-Wings and had a stint with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American
Hockey League in 1997-98. He also saw his first NHL action that season, playing in
seven games with the Stars. In the years since, Mitchell played and coached for teams
in the AHL, IHL and East Coast Hockey League, before retiring after the 2002-03 season.
He first worked for SSG as a hockey school instructor 10 years ago before joining the
staff at Suburban Ice-Farmington Hills in Farmington Hills, MI as an assistant manager in
the summer of 2003.

Pardoski has been with SSG since 1999, and served in a program manager role at both
the Onyx-Rochester Ice Arena in Rochester, MI and Suburban Ice-Macomb.
A Division I
basketball player at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Julie graduated with a B.S. in
Kinesiology and an M.A. in Sports Administration. She has a great deal of arena
programming and management experience, having been assistant manager at arenas in
Indiana and Holland, MI before joining the Onyx staff when it opened its doors in 1999.
She has been at Suburban Ice-Macomb since its opening in 2005, and is taking over
general manager responsibilities from Ryan Pardoski, who is transitioning back into his
full-time role as general manager at the Onyx.

Suburban Sports Group has over 30 years of combined experience specializing in
recreational ice arena consulting & management, programming, and sports & event
marketing/communications.
