The new HB Hockey Club will be a developmental pipeline program with a unified club culture, launched under the storied history of the HoneyBaked Hockey Club. The Suburban Hockey Club (founded in 2007) and pioneering Michigan Icebreakers Girls Hockey Club (founded in 2003) have now merged together into one new association - the HB Hockey Club.

Teams at the Tier II level for boys and girls will be called HB, and will wear uniforms featuring the newly created HB Hockey (shield) logo. Below that teams will be formed at the 10u, 12u and 14u B/Tier III (house/recreational) level and those teams will also be designated as HB.

The 8 & Under program within the HB Hockey Club will consist of three different levels of play.

Level 1 – for 4-8 year old players learning to play

Level 2 – for 5 & 6 year old players

Level 3 – for 7 & 8 year old players

The HB Hockey Club will skate out of Suburban Ice Farmington Hills.

Youth hockey is a long-standing tradition in the Royal Oak community that has spanned 50+ years since ROHA (Royal Oak Hockey Association) was originally established in 1956. In the summer of 2014, the volunteer-based Royal Oak Hockey Association transitioned to the new Royal Oak Hockey Club, a youth hockey structure which is  led by the rink staff members with the added experience of the Suburban Sports Group team.

Playing out of John Lindell-Royal Oak Ice Arena, the Royal Oak Hockey Club offers a House Hockey Program consisting of the following divisions: Mini Mite (age 4 thru 6), Mite (age 7 & 8), Squirt (age 9 & 10), PeeWee (age 11 & 12), Bantam (age 13 & 14), and Midget (15 thru 18). Travel teams (Royal Oak Eagles) are picked by the coaching staff of each respective team.
