Suburban Sports Group hires new skating director for
Novi Ice Arena

Former Disney on Ice principal soloist to lead figure skating, learn to skate programs

Suburban Sports Group of Farmington Hills, MI has hired Micki Freier as Skating Director
at Novi Ice Arena in Novi, MI. Freier is a skating professional with over 30 years
experience, including 18 years of teaching skaters at all levels.

Freier is a gold test medallist in freestyle and figures. A three-time regional gold
medallist and a gold medallist at Midwestern, she also competed at the national and
international levels. In addition, she was the principal soloist for Disney On Ice.

Freier has already begun in her full-time position with Suburban Sports Group, and she
will be responsible for the overall operation of on- and off-ice figure skating and learn
to skate programs at Novi Ice Arena. Suburban Sports Group, which took over
management of Novi Ice Arena in 1999, has over 30 years of experience specializing in
recreational ice arena consulting & management, programming, and sports & event
marketing/communications.
